Cisco IP Phone Software SDK

Does anyone know if there exists a software SDK for our network with Cisco IP Phone (7945)? There is a software version of the phone I have seen. If I get a copy of the Cisco Phone software running on my XP laptop, what would it take to have calls placed from the software we are developing in house, over the Cisco voice network, without a physical 7945 ?

Cisco's recommended way of doing this type of integration is to use the Cisco Unified Application Environment (CUAE) as it abstracts all of the internal voice protocols across the various Cisco UC products and provides an API for third-party applications to interface with.

If you wanted to try and do it directly, you would probably need to look at a JTAPI integration.
