Hallo,
we have a Callmanager 4.1 with a Fax- and Voicemailserver (Callisto with Capi). The Faxserver is termination on H323 IOS-GW whis the E1 to PSTN.
This works fine.
Now we will upgrade for CUCM61 and will use the Gateway with MGCP. The Callisto Fax-Server now can SIP. Can we use MGCP and SIP simultan on the IOS-GW ? Then the SIP-Trunk on CUCM6.1 works not with T.38.
Any ideas or how do you do that?
MfG

If you're switching your H323 gateway to SIP there shouldn't be problems.
If not, I don't understand what you're asking - can you try rewording?

Hallo,
the Problem is the Faxserver. The old config works over H323 on the IOS-Gateway (Cisco3845), but with MGCP can we not use H.323 on this Gateway simultan. The following routes were open to us:
1. At the Callmanger H.323 Gateway - this does not work 2. At the Callmanager SIP-Trunk with the Faxserver SIP-Version - this does not. For both the call manager switches not to T.38.
Now the question is: can I use the fax server (SIP) on the IOS MGCP gateway to connect?
So, MGCP and SIP simultaneously on the C3845?

Hi Dieter,
You can simultaneously use MGCP and H323 as long as it's not for the same PRI. The same goes with SIP.

Hallo,
and thank you for the answer, but i have no found an configuration-example for this Szenario.
HICOM - (E1-Qsig) - C3845 - (MGCP) - CUCM6.1 .... C3845 - (SIP) - Faxserver

I would do a Cisco search on two terms:
"HiCom PRI"
"Sip trunk configuration CUCM"
You should find enough configuration examples there to make sense of this. There won't be one guide that has your entire call flow since it is modular.

I agree, basically each endpoint on the router can be controlled by any one protocol. Therefore you should be reading the guide for that potocol and how to use it for the specific endpoint.
