Hi,

On VMWare you don't need license and you CANNOT load license.

On CUPS > Cisco Unified Presence > Security > AXL Configuration, make sure the user configured there meets the following requirements:

1) It is an application user on CUCM.

2) Its username and password match what was configured on CUCM.

3) It has AXL API role on CUCM

4) Make sure AXL web service is running on CUCM.

Do you have a license installed for CUPS?.... actually, if you are trying to use CUPS with CUCM 7.x, it will not work also and give you this. You have to use CUPS 7.x with CUCM 7.x. Although... CUPS 7.x will work with CUCM 6.x

I am using CUCM 6.1.2 and CUPS 6.03.

I havent installed the license as it gives the following error

Error: License file can not be loaded for CUP running on VMWare

But the system by itself has a 1 node license.

You are the Guru man!

I hadn't configured the AXL API role to the AXL User.

The service runs fine after the change.

Thanks a lot

You're welcome.

If you have not, please take a look at http://htluo.blogspot.com/ and get a copy of "Deploying Cisco Unified Presence".

Most of the CUPS/CUPC questions are answered there.
