hi all,
how to configure ip telephones working properly on behalf of timings.one of my customer requirement is the phone should work between 9am till 5pm only .. after 5pm the phone should get logoff automatically ... and at 9am it should get login again automatically !!! what this option calls and how to configure it !!!

Hi!
Check Time of Day Routing. With this you can route calls to phones based on Time Schedules/Periods. It won't "log off" the phone, but it will stop routing calls to it after 5 pm.

Logging phones on and off at specific times is not possible.
However, time of day routing is. Simplified, you make your route patterns a member of a partition that has a time schedule applied to it. This makes that partition only active during the times you specify.
That way, when you give your phone access to that partition, it can only hit the route pattern for the outgoing call at the times the partition is active. When the partition is not active it cannot make the call.
The elements you need to configure are:
Time periods
Time schedule (Contains periods)
A partition with the time schedule applied
a calling search space with access to the timed partition.
After the above are done, it will work.

hi all,
thanks for your nice help guys ... one more thing regarding the same feature that can we configure password for this .. what i mean is e.g. from 9am till 5pm, after 5pm user will not able to make calls ... is there some option of password or pin that user enters or can able to make calls (if he wants to make call after 5pm) and then he logout !!!

Hi Ahmed,
You can make your phones logoff at a specified time from the time you have logged in.
From the service parameter, You can set maximum login time
set it for 8-hours which will be suitable for your case
So if some one login at 9 am, it will logout at 5 pm automatically
It will work with time of day routing with no impact

what you are saying is right .. but actually customer wants to get login or logout as per his wish (after office hours) ...
i've h.323 configured b/w CCM or gateway .. i guess there is some configuration needs to be done on GW !!!! any body has idea !!!

Hi Ahmed,
Unfortionatly it is not doable
You cann't inforce logout after at a specific time
So time of day routing will meet your requirment
Or you can try doing it manually by resetting the tomcat service

there is no system to enforce EM at a certain time, that kind of feature requires the code of EM to be modified, thus there is no way for this.
get in touch with your AM and see if you can submit a PER for this
as already mentioned, TOD is the most feasible option. after hours configure route patterns with FAC or CMC.
what your customer wants simply cannot be done
