On all of the access ports, port security is turned on and has been effective for quite some time...
switchport port-security
switchport port-security mac-address-sticky
We have just started to push an OS upgrade over the network from win2k to xp and sometime during the image push, port-security is triggered and shuts down the port. No computers are being moved and the same NIC is being used.
The port security should only be monitoring the mac address and that obviously does not change. So, does anyone have any idea of what could be triggering the err-disable state?

Strange...that is something we need to look at. I would suggest to open a TAC case to identify the issue.

We have a similiar situation here. While attempting to restore files from backup, port security is triggered and shutdown the port. However, when the same operation is done from another system, it works just fine. No system changes on either. Only difference is one is a dual-console system and the other is a single console system. The dual is the one that fails.
