Unity Failover build process

I have built the Unity 7 server and this is running ok however I am unsure as to the process to build the Failover server.

The IOS etc is on but when I load the Unity

7 software I can't see from the information I have downloaded where the differences are in building the Failover server compared to the primary.

Does anyone have a step by step guide to this process ?

Andy,

The process for building the secondary Unity server is identical to building the primary. When the secondary is designated as the primary is at the very end when the failover configuration wizard is ran.

EDIT: It's not 100% identical, the secondary will need different port prefixes defined than the primary.

Here you go:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/installation/guide/vmexfo/5xcuigvmefo010.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/failover/guide/ex/5xcufge010.html

Hope that helps,

Brad

1. Download the install guide that includes failover and that's all you should need.

2. On the failover server you should install the default license.

3. When you run the failover config wizard it will enable database replication.

Hi, as above, download and follow the install guide for Unity with failover. To verify that your configuration has worked and that SQL is replicating open SQL Server Enterprise Manager, click on Microsoft SQL Servers > SQL Server Group > Unity Server and then click on Replication. Depending on whether your on your primary or secondary Unity server you should see the UnityDb in the folder Publications or Subscriptions.
