Using a router as an ACS server

folks

i'm having problems with one of my acs appliances - i suspects its giving out duplicate IP addresses to users and therefore causing vpns to fail

i only have 8 accounts but each one represents a department in my organisation and the departmental account is used to validate a PPP connection

each department has a dhcp scope of 62 addresses allocated from the acs server

i'd like to temporarily replace the acs server with a router to see if the problem of duplicate addresses still occurs

the current acs server uses radius packets from an upstream nas

has anyone had to use a router for this purpose and if so are you aware of any config guides?

thanks to anyone taking the time to read this or reply

greatly appreciated

Yes, it is recommended to use router as dhcp instead of acs. Seen many similar issue with acs dhcp.

many thanks for your reply

can you point me to any guides

i suspect i could use the acs for authentication and hand over to a router for dhcp allocation

i would need to run 8 separate scopes

thanks again
