failover of Internet Service - ADVICE

Hi,

Bluecoat is used on the network by users to browse internet and its setup as

Internet-----ISP---Internet_RTR-----Switch----LAN

Bluecoat is configured on a dedicated VLAN and user on different vlan.

Public IP is natted on the Internet-RTR with Bluecoat IP to pass internet traffic.

Now we will have another ISP ; terminating on the same router; both ISP has different set of IP address for their connection.

How could I configure Load-balancing and Failover of internet service on Router for two ISP.

(Bluecoat send all request to Router and router takes care of load-balancing & failover ))

Ask the ISPs to advertise each other's addresses, and to split the addresses they own for you into two half blocks.

The two half blocks will cause all traffic to go through the correct ISP when things are normal. Only when your BGP routes from the owning ISP go down will the full block be used.

That way you do not have to change any IP addresses.

Hi,

Thats not possible with ISP.

Is there any other way of doing without any manual intervention.

Regards

I am not sure if it will fit all your needs, but I have had sucess with IP SLA, and installing a route only after verifiying rachability.

plz can you post the complete configuration
