Changing IP address of managed devices

Hi Experts,

Will it be a problem if I change the IP Address of the discovered and managed devices in DCR? As those devices are now changed with new IP addresses.

If you've already changed the IP addresses on the devices, then it would be a problem if you did NOT change them in DCR as well. If the old IPs are in DCR, then LMS will no longer be able to manage these devices until you update the IP addresses with the new values.

Hi Joe,

I am thinking of there might be two ways to change it but I am not sure which one is okay.

1. Update the IP address from Device Identity .

2. Rediscover with seed device using new IP address.

Which shld be the correct or better one to do?
