Manual enable of night service from phone

Hello

This is really a probably a daft question but how to you enable the night-service manually from a night-service phone. If it just a point of pressing * then the night-service code?

This is possible through the "night-service code" command under "telephony-service". More information on:

when the code is entered we just get a "Unknown Number" message.

Did you enable this feature via CCA or through CLI? If through CLI you may have missed something in your configuration, please either thoroughly review the document Marcos referenced or attach a show run (edit out any personal or private data before posting here) and we can look through it to see if anything is missing.

It was done via the CLI - Night Service should be able to be manually activated from Ext 201.

None of your extensions have night service on them. From the doc Marcos linked to:

Step 12

ephone-dn dn-tag Example: Router(config)# ephone-dn 55

Enters ephone-dn configuration mode to define an ephone-dn to receive night-service treatment.

Step 13

night-service bell Example: Router(config-ephone-dn)# night-service bell

Marks this ephone-dn for night-service treatment.

Try setting this up on your ephone-dn 10 and try from that extension again.

Question on the behavior of this manual enable. When you enable from a night service extension with the night-service code. This enables night-service on the extension until it is a\ manually disabled, or b\ the night-service time brings it back into 'day'

That is correct, except that as of Cisco CME 3.3 night service is no longer enabled JUST for the extension dialing the code, it is enabled system wide.
