CCNA ACTIVE STATUS--CCNP

Unanswered Question
Mar 19th, 2009

Hi Guys i needed some clarification so i dropped in for a professional advice.

I gave my CCNA in May 2006 and is ABOUT to expire this May.

1. My question is if i have to maintain my CCNA status as ACTIVE do i need to CLEAR all the FOUR papers of CCNP?

http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/learning_about_recertification.html

2.This link says Pass any Professional level exam bearing a 642 prefix.Does this mean i have to CLEAR all the CCNP papers with the prefix 642 or it would be OK if i clear ONE paper of the 4 papers.

3. If i clear ONE paper say BCMSN will i be successful to retain the active CCNA status. If the answer is YES ,how long can i retain this active status?

Hope everything is clear and i request you to answer all the above questions..

Thanks in advance and for your time.

Regards

You only need to take 1 CCNP level exam to re-certify your CCNA. It will be valid for another 2 years.

Hope that helps.

In response to the above comment it will be valid for another 3 years not 2.
