Hi,

It seems you are in hybrid mode so the following link should help you to upgrade the IOS running on the MFSC.

Hi

Thanks for the reply

We are using using 6513 in hybrid mode having sup-2 with CatOS

and having dual MSFC2 for redundanc ruuning cisco IOS which is obvious.

Could you please tell me how to to do the IOS upgrade on both MSFC modules (one is active and other is stand by)

Please go to the "Upgrading Images with Single Router Mode Enabled" part of the link I sent to you which will describe the process.

You will have to delete your current version to have enough space to copy the new one. Also check you have at least 256M of RAM

Laurent.

Hi

Should i have to delete current version from Bootflash.?

my dir dik 0: gives me 64 mb of ram

Dear All

Hi Adhitya

I made more research as I'm not a 6500 running in hybrid mode expert ;-) :

- Max size of bootflash is 32M

- Booting from a flash card is supported but not recommended. Please see the following link which also describes the upgrade process:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a00801347e2.shtml#booting

With your current configuration, the last image you can install is 12.1.27bE4(ED) (except if you take the risk to boot from the flash card).

Also to check the quantity of RAM you have, use the show version command.

In case you are not aware, CatOS and SUP2 are end-of-life:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps708/prod_qas0900aecd80699ea6.html

So I think you will have in the short term think about migrating to Native IOS mode to continue having full support and access to new feature and hw.
