Hi all expert,

Currently my client router Cisco 2811 ISR,running on CME 7.0(1)is fail to bootup after a unattended reload when in operation. The router installed with a HWIC-4ESW. The error message appeared as below.

%SYS-3-NOELEMENT: data_enqueue:Ran out of buffer elements for enqueue -Process= "<interrupt level>",

ipl= 4, pid= 3, -Traceback= 0x415E105C 0x403CB6DC 0x40322D60 0x40055434 0x415DCAE4

The bootup process hang halfway, and can't enter any command.I did search through Cisco,but it mentioned there's no workaround for this? What should i do now?

TIA

I am not sure what you found when you did your search through Cisco but it sounds like you found reference to an identified bug. If that is the case I would suggest that you get the router to boot to rommon and load a new version of code to flash and boot the new version.

HI Rick,

I was search based on the error message and got the result as the link below:http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_4/release/notes/124MCAVS.html.Everything was fine before the router(CME) reload unattended.I've tried to load a newer version of software under rommon,but unfortunately i'm having difficulty to do so.I was unable to change the below information:

rommon 9 > set

PS1=rommon ! >

FE_PORT=0

iP_SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0

IP_SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0

DEFAULT_GATEWAY=192.168.1.10

TFTP_SERVER=192.168.1.10

WARM_REBOOT=FALSE

BOOT=flash:c2800nm-ipvoice_ivs-mz.124-20.T1.bin,12;

RET_2_RTS=14:12:25 SGT Sat Jan 10 2009

CRASHINFO=crashinfo_FAILED

BSI=0

RET_2_RCALTS=

RANDOM_NUM=1592161296

TFTP_FILE=c2800nm-adventerpisek_ivs-mz.124-22.YB.bin

IP_ADDRESS=192.168.1.1

Any clue resolve this?

Thanks mate!!

Jesse

This link is to a pretty good discussion of how to use tftpdnld on a 2800 router:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/1800/1841/software/configuration/guide/b_rommon.html#wp1070700

Are the addresses in what you posted the addresses in your situation? (is the TFTP server at 192.168.1.10? is it also the default gateway for the router? is FE 0 the interface to which the TFTP server is connected?

It looks like you still need to set the IP address of the router interface and the TFTP file (the new IOS you want to use) and then you should be ready to use tftpdnld to get the new image into flash.

Worst case: Delete the old IOS: c2800nm-ipvoice_ivs-mz.124-20.T1.bin and then boot again to the newer IOS.

Hi Leo & Rick,

Thanks for all your supported.I'll give it a try again from the ROMMON.I think the worst case is not reloading the router with new IOS,but proper communication between my console terminal with the router(rommon),as the rommon behaved like it cannot display the coding on the console terminal properly.Most of the keys enter from the keyboard were translated incorrect,like e.g.:I press the word"tftpdnld",in fact, the command display on terminal became "t3tpduIs".Anyhow, i'll give it a try then will update you guys again.

cheers.
