Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this is the right discussion group to post this.

I have a customer who is looking to implement NAC. While the Windows machines, Unix machines and software products are not a problem, the customer has an issue with the authentication of Printers and mobile wireless devices etc on the network. Is implementing printers in a NAC enabled network hard or even the wireless mobile devices etc.

Thanks.

Tommy

Are you implementing a NAC framework or NAC appliance solution.

Hi,

The customer has a NAC appliance solution.

You have two options for devices that cannot authenticate into the Cisco NAC Appliance solution.

1. You can define the MAC address or IP address(es) as device filters or subnet filters. You can assign them roles without the device authenticating.

Device Management: Adding Clean Access Servers, Adding Filters

2. You can use the NAC profiler to monitor the network and classify these devices into roles. This will update the NAC manager device roles automatically with the role you define for that traffic pattern. Its another device to install and managed but it help managed a large and fluid environment.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response. These two documents are fantastic and exactly what i am looking for.

Thanks.

Tom.
