Hi we have 3 networked unity servers and cross server login implemented and works fine. However when we want to forward direct to a subscribers voice mailbox it only works if we happen to hit the correct server when we transfer the caller, if we hit the wrong server we just hear the default opening greeting....Cheers, Jag

Are all three Cisco Unity servers configured for Cross Server Logon and Cross Server Transfer?

For all three servers, in the Cisco Unity System Administration (SA) web interface, choose Dialing Domains and verify that Cross Server Logon and Cross Server transfer are enabled appropriately and that the pilot numbers for Cross Server Logon, Transfer, and Live Reply are configured.

One other thing I would suggest checking is the Auto-Attendant Search scope making sure it's configured for Dialing Domain, otherwise it will default to searching the local subscriber base only.

If you have Unity 7 servers, this option has moved out of the Advanced Settings Tool and into SAWeb under the Primary Location.

Hope that helps,

thanks for your reply, that setting has also been set on these systems.

I have however noticed that the following was not set:

Allow transfer on override for cross server login

what do you think , sounds like it might fix it?

To better help you, could you give some more detail about how the transfer is occurring and what you are experiencing?

For example:

UserA attempts to transfer a call directly to UserB's VM. UserA presses transfer, dials VM pilot number enters UserB's extension number followed by #2, presses transfer and hangs up. Caller hears UserB's greeting.

If you are not calling UserB's home server in the above scenario, the transfer direct to UserB's voicemail will fail if you are entering #2 after the extension to go directly to the greeting (transfer override) unless you have enabled the Networking option "Allow Transfer Override on Cross-server Transfer Handoff", in the Advanced Settings Tool.

thanks for your reply, we are not entering user b's home server and are just doing the *xxxxx to the extension.

Works ok if you happen to hit the correct server port during cross server transfer but we get the openiog greeting if we hit a different server. I will try the ''allow transfer overide'' option.
