I am trying to work out which funtionality is best for what i am trying to do here. I need a platform on my edge facing my service provider on my datafeeds network taking in different trading services (Market Feeds). i would like to seperate the different services coming in to my edge switch and route in to my core. The Nexus provide VDC but the 6500 doesnt but does support VRF. Plus I cannot run FWSM (With also different context to match VRF) on the nexus but can on the 6500. On the orher hand the nexus is more powerful and provide virtual context, segmenting OS and hardware resources.

Can somone pls assist me making the right decision.

VDC is some kind of OS level virtualization.N7k also support VRF. But as you said, you want to use it "on my edge facing my service provider" and "separate the different services coming in to my edge switch and route in to my core".

Then probably 6500 is the best choose.(N7k doesn't support Cisco's Service Module).
