Hi, I'm in the process of specifying hardware to run CiscoWorks LMS 3.1, and have noted that for our size network (<5000 managed nodes) the recommendation is for a quad CPU system.
The question is: for the purposes of this sizing, are discrete cores considered CPUs, or should I be counting sockets?
(Obviously a single socket, quad core system is substantially cheaper.)

Discrete cores ARE considered CPUs. Hyperthreading is NOT. A quad core, single chip system will be fine provided it meets minimum RAM and disk requirements.
