IPM issue

v.vasilev

Level 1

I've been getting the same error message for a while:

===================================

Error in communicating with Group Administration Server.

It may be down or not yet up. Please make sure that the Group Administration Server is up and running, then refresh the page.

====================================

I know the IPM Group Administration depends on the IPMOGSServer and CMFOGSServer processes so I tried restarting them. I even tried restarting the Daemon Manager which restarts all processes but the problem still persists. Does any know what could be causing this. IPM is the only application which can not communicate with the Group administration server.

Thank you!

Regards,

V.Vasilev

And this is the problem. Change this as well as /var/sadm/pkg/CSCOmd/pkginfo so that the FQDN value is correct. Then restart dmgtd.

Please post the output of the pdshow command.

Hello!

It is in the attached file!

Thank you!

Regards,

V.Vasilev

All the daemons are running, not not all of them came up at the same time. Reboot the server, then post the pdshow after reproducing the problem. Do not manually start anything.

I did what you said!

Thank you!

V.Vasilev

This looks fine. If the problem is still happening, post the IPMOGSServer.log and IPMOGSClient.log.

Yes, the problem still persists.

/var/adm/CSCOpx/log/IPMOGSServer.log is empty

IPMOGSClient does not exist.

Is it possible that something went wrong after I upgraded both CM (to 5.0.4) and DFM (to 3.0.4)?

Regards,

V.Vasilev

Post the ipmclient.log and ipmprocess.log.

Here there are!

Thank you!

V.Vasilev

Post the output of the DOS SET command as well as a screenshot of the Computer Name tab from your System Control Panel.

Hello!

This is Solaris 10 OS.

V.Vasilev

Okay, then post the output of the hostname command, and the /opt/CSCOpx/lib/classpath/md.properties file.

I found one discrepancy in this file:

PX_FQDN=lms1.lirex.com

this server has been installed in different LAN so lirex.com shouldn't be here.

Thank you!

Regards,

V.Vasilev

And this is the problem. Change this as well as /var/sadm/pkg/CSCOmd/pkginfo so that the FQDN value is correct. Then restart dmgtd.

Hello!

You were right! It solved my problem. Thank you very much for your help :)

V.Vasilev
