How to reset the Cisco Catalyst 2950G 24 EI Switch to default factory setting.

write erase

then

delete flash:vlan.dat

(reboot).

Okay. I will do that and update the same. For reload, can i use 'reload' command from CLI or Is there any reset switch on the hardware switch to reboot the switch to factory default?

Thank you very much!Is there any pre-cuastion need to check before the reload to avoid boot failure or ROMmode.

Like, Boot image verification, path?

It's always wise to check you have a valid image in the flash before rebooting. I suggest rebooting before the 'write erase' procedure and make sure it works.

Aside from Edison's comment, during the bootup sequence make sure you keep a close eye for any error messages.

When the bootup sequence has completed, you have the option to do the following:

Enter into enable mode and type "sh post". If the system is OK, it should respond with "Pass".
