Interconnect CE520

I have 3560s that are configured with vlans 1,2,22. I have a CE520 connected to port 22 of one of the Catalyst 3560s. The port is configured trunking. I want to plug a phone into the CE520 and operate on vlan 22.

How do I get the vlans from the catalyst 3560s to propogate to the CE520?

Right now the CE gigabit uplink port is configured as default vlan 1. When I plug my laptop into port 1 of the CE520, I get an IP Address from Vlan 1 and I can get to the internet fine. However, when I plug an IP 7940 IP Phone into port two, it does not get an ip address from vlan 22.

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You can create vlan 22 on CE520. It won't impact cat3550.

Basically, on 3550 side, port f0/22 is a trunk port and permit all vlans. Vlan 22 is configure as voice vlan.

Personally, I did not use CE520 before. I know it does not have CLI and have to config it via CCA.

1. You need configure CE520 gig uplink and port 22 on CAT3560 as trunk.

2. allow vlan 1,2,22 on the trunk.

3. Make sure vlan 1,2,22 are created on CE520 or config VTP to let it learn vlan info from CAT3560 if CAT3560 is configured as VTP server.

4. config the voice vlan 22 on the port which IP phone will be connected to.

CE520 is only configurable via CCA. CCA only allow me to create vlans. I do not see where I can configure VTP on the CE520 using CCA.

If I create vlan 22 on the CE520, will it conflict with vlan 22 on the Catalyst 3550s?

Port 22 of the catalyst 3550 is configured as follows:

interface FastEthernet0/22

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

switchport voice vlan 22

no ip address

srr-queue bandwidth share 10 10 60 20

srr-queue bandwidth shape 10 0 0 0

priority-queue out

mls qos trust device cisco-phone

mls qos trust cos

no mdix auto

auto qos voip cisco-phone

spanning-tree portfast

This worked out great. Couple of things though:

1. I had to delete the default voice vlan "Cisco-Voice"

2. Then I added vlan 22

3. The CE520 forces you to name the vlan "Cisco-Voice".

Thanks for all your help.

Just for reference, because I know the CE520 can be a pain:

http://x.x.x.x/exec

Voila! CLI access.
