Hi All,

I can't figure out how to find an available directory number within CCM6.1 when assigning a new extension.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

there really is no function for this, you should have your dial plan already designed and with some written doc or file for this

at most you can use the route plan report to see what's already in use and then see if the DN you want to use is there or not.

it will not expand wildcards so you need to check all the possible patterns

Thankyou Java. One of my customers is not maintaining a good list. I'm surpried CCM can't generate a report for unused DN's in the route plan

because it simply has no idea of how many digits your dial plan is going to have, so it's really not surprising it does not have it.

otherwise you would get a report on +billion numbers that are not used.

that's why you should have the dial plan properly documented.
