c1700-ipbase-mz.123-7.XR6.bin

c1700-ipbase-mz.123-6f.bin

I guess these releases have been taken off due to some bug/issue. Can someone help me out to find the reason why it has been withdrawn and whats the replacement model etc.

Hi,

You're right, releases are removed to keep software quality.

The last 12.4 is 12.4(23)

The last 12.3XR is 12.3(7)XR7

The last 12.3 is 12.3(26)

Dear Laurent,

Thank you very much for the reply.

I want to know why these IOSs are removed. Is there any URL which could give me more information on the same. Issue is that currently we are using these IOS in our network. I would like to upgrade the boxes containing 'em. But I need to give business justification for the same.

Thanks in advance.

Possibly because of the new IOS file naming convention.

Can someone provide me more information on the reason why these URLS have been withdrawn. URLS would be useful.

They are removed because critical bugs have been identified and we want to be sure our customer moved to safer releases. Not all customers may be impacted by these bugs but when a release is deferred, no more fix or rebuild will be available.

With the releases you are currently running, if in the future you hit a bug or faced a security vulnerability, you will have to upgrade anyway so I recommend you to plan it now instead of doing it in panic mode.

Laurent,

Thank you very much for the information.

Is there any Cisco notice available regarding the withdrawal of these releases.

Also how to know which is the recommended replacement for the IOS I am running.

Thanks in advance

Too many bugs had been identified so that's why I think they removed it.
