Hi,

I purchased an old 1010 AP, and am trying to get it registered onto my WLC running version 5.x.

I see the DISOVERY request / response and then a JOIN message.

After that, I see :-

LWAPP Join Request unsupported AP 00:0b:85:5e:7e:80 cw11ws5a01 (Model AP1010)

It seem to suggest that this model is not supported with my WLC.

I am still searching the docs, trying to find out if this is the case, but in the meantime has anyone seen this message before ?

Thanks

It's in the same document:

"These release notes describe open and resolved caveats for software release 5.2.157.0 for Cisco 2100 and 4400 Series Wireless LAN Controllers; Cisco Wireless Services Modules (WiSM); Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Network Modules; Catalyst 3750G Integrated Wireless LAN Controller Switches; Cisco 3201 Wireless Mobile Interface Cards (WMICs); Cisco Aironet 1100, 1130, 1140, 1200, 1230AG, 1240, 1250, 1300, and AP801 Series Lightweight Access Points; and Cisco Aironet 1130AG, 1240AG, 1522, and 1524 Mesh Access Points, which comprise part of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network (UWN) Solution."

Hope this helps.

I guess this awnsers my question :-

Controller software release 5.0.148.0 or later is not compatible with Cisco Aironet 1000 series access points.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn52.html

However I cant seem to find a good clear compatibility MATRIX that shows the WLC Hardware + Software Version + Supported AP's

Does anyone know of a link ? Thanks

Thanks.

I just wish Cisco would make a single page that lists all the supported hw / sw combinations.

They do this for the CM and voice products (supported gw / phones / firmware loads etc).
