I am unable to telnet to a remote cisco router 1700, when I connect and directly telnet to it using the ethernet cable, it works fine. I can telnet as far as the switch that connects the router. checked the transport input all, login, and all vty lines has been configured with the same password. Thanks for your help

Bahlezi,

ACL issue maybe? If you can telnet to the directly connected switch, try telneting to the 1700 from that switch.

I have checked and there are no ACLs on the the router...I noticed that there's a default route pointing to another router, could it be that it's not finding its route back to me?
