Ok here is my scenario. We have a remote router that has a static nat that points to a server in datacenter1. We now have datacenter2 with a clone server. Basically I am trying to get CSS functionality out of our 1841 except I just want Active/Passive. Does anyone know of any way to do this without purchasing true load balancers?

The only thing that occurs is to use something along the lines of EEM where you can run a script on the router that checks the availability of the remote device and if down can then run certain commands on the router ie. change the NAT translation.

I would recommend posting this query into Network Management where there is a Cisco expert, J. Clarke, who is experienced in EEM and could tell you if this is a workable solution.
