Hi all, I have 2 switches connected , by 2 different l3 interfaces, so they are both successors and load balancing, how would I make one of the routes to become feasible successor? the interfaces are normal fastethernet.

cheers

Carl

Hello Carl,

if you want to make one link less preferred then the other one

check current delay with

sh int fx/y

then use

int fx/y

delay xxx

use a greater value then the default one.

method2:

more selective using offset-list applied under router eigrp process

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/iproute/configuration/guide/irp_cfg_eigrp_ps6350_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html#wp1054179

using this you can make one path less preferred only for specific route(s)

Hope to help

Giuseppe

how would I make it feasible successor? i changed the delay to higher, but its still showing as successor.

any ideas ?

Hello Carl,

may you post

sh ip eigrp topology

! let me use placeholders names for the

! two lan interfaces

sh int f0/0

sh int f0/1

sh ip eigrp int f0/0

sh ip eigrp int f0/1

all of these commands on the local router that sees the two equal cost paths

Hope to help

Giuseppe
