6509 not seeing disk1

I have two flash cards, one in slot0 and one in slot 1.

At one time I was able to work with the disk1, I had put an image on it and configured the switch to boot from it.

The 6509 does not seem to be seeing the disk1 now.

I have reseted the disk1 and see in the log:

Apr 2 11:25:20.692: %FILESYS-SP-5-DEV: PCMCIA flash card removed from disk1

Apr 2 11:25:22.363: %FILESYS-SP-5-DEV: PCMCIA flash card inserted into disk1

But when doing a dir all, I do not see it and cannot see the Image anywhere.

I see no disk1 anywhere.

Any thoughts?

Try format disk1:

%Error formatting disk1 (No such device)

Update:

I reseated the disk again and was able to format it and it shows up in the dir list.

But, do you have any ideas as to why it is dropping out like that?

Did you format or use that disk1 in another system in the interim?

No,

I had used only in this device.

I had not formatted it, but had plugged it into the 6509 and was able to se it at that time.

I was able to copy an image and several other files to it.

Do these flash cards come pre formatted?

Most do, depending on the manufacturer. However, they don't come pre-formatted to work on your specific hardware and OS.

Best practice is to format the media from the OS that is going to be used.

Hi Guys,

Has there been any solution to this problem, any thoughts ?

We have a 7604 doing the same.
