Device discovery

We have a lot of WAPs appearing in Device discovery report (I guess it is through CDP). I don't really need to manage the APs (it is done through WLSE). Is there a way to prevent these APs to appear in CM new device discovery report (besides using IP filter)?

or see MAC addresses of all newly discovered devices?

We are on LMS 2.6. If I upgrade to 3.0 would it be able to recognize WAPs?

The only way to exclude the APs is to use a filter to either Discovery or a DCR filter. Otherwise, as long as the APs are SNMP-reachable, and running CDP, they will be found by Discovery, and added to DCR.

The MACs of the managed devices themselves can be found in the RME Detailed Devices Report.

Is it possible to define DCR filter based on MAC addresses? If so could you provide step-by-step instructions?

Thank you

This is not possible. DCR filters can only be based on IP or hostname.
