IP http secure-server problems/how to set up

Hello. My supervisor wants to use SDM to manage our 1841 router but with secure access (https). I have already set this up for http access but I am having problems with the secure server command. When I run the command ip http secure-server in Global Configuration mode the IOS tells me "invalid input at marker" and points to secure-server as the problem. I read somehwere that I need to obtain a certificate or generate a rsa key pair with the command "crypto key generate rsa" but this command is not recognized as valid either. Do I need to upgrade my IOS (currently version 12.4 (3i). What am I doing wrong? I just want to enable https access for SDM. Please, any help would be very appreciated.

You need an image the has crypto (look for k9 in the image name). Post a show version and we can help you get the right IOS image.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Collin. Here are my show version results.

Thanks Collin but my login will not give me access. Cisco tells me "The file or application you are trying to access may require additional entitlement or you are trying to access a file with an invalid name." What do you recommend?

Do you have a valid smartnet contract on the router?

Sorry but I am knew at this and do not know about Smartnet contracts. My company bought the router a couple of months ago but we did not buy any extras (support, etc.).
