AutoQOS with non Cisco VOIP solution

Hi All,

Can I deploy AutoQOS on my LAN switching and layer 3 switching when using a Siemens VOIP solution. I realise that their phones do not do CDP, so I need to trust the COS on the access port. But can I use all the other AutoQOS settings?

thierically should be fine if you trust dscp or cos on the access ports and dscp on the uplinks trunks

but make sure from the marking is it cos 5 for voice for example and cos 3 signaling

if not u need to change you qos accordingly

try to capture you trafic with wireshark for example and see the marking

So what do I do if I want to add other QOS classificatios, like I want to set Citrix traffic into the interactive class. Do I just have to mark the traffic and that is all?

ok marking will be ok to mark the traffic but what after marking ?

you need to think do you need to have policies to prioritize some traffic over other

this way you can use the marked traffic and give to each class bandwidth acorrdengly
