First, if this is LMS 2.5, you really need to upgrade. That software is going on four years old. You can get to LMS 2.6 SP1 by downloading updates from http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/sw-center/cw2000/lan-planner.shtml .

Second, you are using an unsupported Java plug-in. You must uninstall ALL versions of Java from the client, then install the plug-in that comes with your version of LMS.

Third, make sure the ANIServer daemon is running, and that TCP ports 1683, 1684, and 8088 are open between the client and server.

Hi Clark

we are using updated Java 6 Standard edition. alos ciscoworks ANI database engine is also started.

could you suggest any oyher solution for this or we need to upgrade 2.5 to 2.6. will fix the issue.

Java 6 is NOT supported with LMS 2.x. You must use the version of the JPI that comes with the LMS server.

You also need to verify the state of ANIServer and the required open TCP ports.

Hi Clark

how can we open....TCP ports 1683, 1684, and 8088 between the client and server.

ANIdbengine is running properly , i have cheked in services.msc...

You need to verify the state of ANIServer using the pdshow command. As for the TCP ports, make sure there is no firewall or access-list blocking them. You should be able to telnet from the client to the server on those ports, and get a successful connection.
