Hi all, if I have gigabit speeds going into my switch, then they go out via a 10 meg ethernet port, what happens to all the frames, will they get dropped or buffered so far before tcp will start to drop/resend packets ?

Most network devices will buffer some amount of frames/packets. When limits reached, additional frames/packets dropped.

For TCP, it will "see" lost packets and resend them.

how much can it buffer, say a c2960 ?
