Slow connection problems

I am facing this problem of slow connections with applications when they traverse mpls links to fetch/access the destination.Issues like the page of the application timesout,slow response from the app interface and other query related issues.

I have checked the links end to end..all appears fine..with no errors.utilisation quite normal..return time is very much accpetable et al.

Please help me on this.I see lot of retransmissions at times from one of our tools.One thing is all these are connected via gre tunnel through the wan.

Which might be the cause due to transmission unit.bt not aware how to tackle & check this further.

Please help.

The retransmissions could be packet drop somewhere on the path. I suggest you to find out packet size used by your application. Then issue a ping across MPLS network with the packet size which you find to see if there is any ping packet drop. If yes, next step would be to find out where the packet got dropped, in local site, remote site or MPLS cloud.
