Faulty NM-4A/S?

Hi All,

I'm having a problem with a NM-4A/S and a 2620 router.

The NM-4A/S is identified in the 2620 as a NM-4T (which is unsupported). If I try it in a 2651XM it coms up as an unknown port adaptor.

The IOS on the 2620 is 12.3(19a) and the 2651XM is 12.4(18). According to the following link, the NM-4A/s should be supported.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps274/products_tech_note09186a00800a93f1.shtml

As a test, I put the same NM-4A/S into a 3620, running 12.1 and it comes up as a Mueslix-4T

Now, this NM was sitting in a drawer for a long time (and may have come via eBay) Is it possible that an NM-4A/S could actually be a NM-4T? or could it be faulty? The back plate of the card does clearly say NM-4A/S

Thanks for any input.

Kevin

As per the document the Card is supported by the cisco 2600 XM series only

when you give the sh ver

cisco 2621XM (MPC860P) processor (revision 0x301) with 118784K/12288K bytes of memory.

Hi Paila,

I think you may have misunderstood me.

I know that the NM-4T is not supported in the 2600 series, but the card I installed was marked as being a NM-4A/S which is supported in the 2600 series.
