SRST translation patterns

Answered Question
Apr 7th, 2009

I have a 2811 MGCP gateway w/SRST at a remote site with a couple of issues during SRST fallback. All calls come in on a local PRI and I recieve 4 digits from the LEC

1) two DIDs for phones at the site utilize translation patterns on CUCM to route to their internal extensions and work fine during normal operation

DID 3041 TP to ext.2341

DID 3042 TP to ext.2342

During SRST fallback what is the best way to route these DIDs to the phones? Would it simply be translation patterns such as this:

voice translation-rule 3041

rule 1 /3041/ /2341/

voice translation-profile 3041

translate calling 3041

call-manager-fallback

translation-profile incoming 3041

2)an additional three DIDs also use translation patterns on CUCM to route across the WAN to our Contact Center (3rd party) server such as this:

DID 2333 TP 2300

DID 3533 TP 2300

DID 2173 TP 2300

when these DIDs hit my SRST router i want to hairpin them back out the PSTN (WAN is down) and dial the full 10 digit number to get to the Contact Center server. I already have a outbound dial peer for SRST so users can still 4 digit dial to other locations which works fine

dial-peer voice 12 pots

description ****SRST 4-digit dialing****

destination-pattern [2-3]...

port 0/0/0:23

forward-digits 10

prefix XXXXXX

are translation patterns the best way to go here or should I use something like num-exp?

Many thanks in advance!

Paul

I have this problem too.

Hi,

You could use the following config

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /^304./ /234./

rule2 /^2333/ /2300/

rule3 /^3533/ /2300/

rule 4/^2173/ /2300/

voice translation-profile IN-SRST

translate called 1

!Apply the xlation profile on your incoming pots port!

dial-peer voice xxxx pots

translation-profile incoming IN-SRST

incoming called-number .

direct-inward-dial

port 0/0/0:23

Many thanks for the response! I will put this on the VG at the remote site and test one night this week by dropping an ACL on the Metro-E port to force SRST.

The TPs you provided worked like a champ - I did have to remove the ^ character - the VG didn't like that for some reason. Now if I can just get the telco to send RDNIS so voicemail works during SRST I'll be golden

Thanks again!!
