Hi,
I'd like to upgrade the IOS:
Mr_Bb#sh flash:
Directory of flash:/

Mr_Bb#erase flash:

Mr_Bb#copy tftp: flash:

Mr_Bb#
Why can't I erase the flash?
TIA,

Try either the following:
1. delete /f /r flash:[c805-osy6-mw.123-26.bin]
Note: Is this even the right filename???
2. delete /f /r flash:c805-osy6-mw.123-26.bin
When either one is completed, see if you have the command "squeeze flash:".
If none of the commands work, the next command will COMPLETELY WIPE OUT your flash drive: format flash:
Hope this helps.

Hi,
In the filename the problematic is the [] signs?
Yes, sh flash: shows the mentioned filename.
Your 1 and 2 options didn't do anything.
Can I use format flash: if this is the content of flash?
Mr_Bb#delete /f /r c805-osy6-mw.123-26.bin
Mr_Bb#sh flash:
Directory of flash:/
0 ---- 49096 Nov 8 2000 04:37:53 +01:00 TinyROM-1.4(1)
66 -r-x 6229492 Mar 18 2008 04:29:07 +01:00 [c805-osy6-mw.123-26.bin]
8388608 bytes total (2031616 bytes free)
So the question is: What will be with TinyROM-1.4(1)?
TIA,

The "format flash:" command will completely wipe out your flash.

Then what can I do with the TinyROM file?
The router is far from here ...

Hi,
Oh!
There isn't format command!
Mr_Bb#format ?
% Unrecognized command
Hmmm...
TIA,

1. You can copy TinyROM-1.4(1) to your TFTP server.
2. I can't believe "format flash:" is not supported on a 12.3 IOS when it's already present in the 12.2 IOS.
3. Try "squeeze flash:".

Hi,
1. OK, I hope I can copy it. What will it be effected to the running router?
2. I copied the result what I got from the IOS for "format" command.
3. I'll make a try.
TIA,
04-10-2009 07:35 PM
I have no idea what the "TinyROM-1.4(1)" filename is for and I'm sure it has nothing to do with the operation of your router.

Hi,
OK. We don't know what is TinyROM and it is needed or not. But what about erasing the flash:?
Squeeze flash:
Mr_Bb#squeeze flash:
All deleted files will be removed. Continue? [confirm]
Squeeze operation may take a while. Continue? [confirm]
|>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>|
Squeeze of flash complete
Mr_Bb#sh flash:
Directory of flash:/
0 ---- 49096 Nov 8 2000 04:37:53 +01:00 TinyROM-1.4(1)
66 -r-x 6229492 Mar 18 2008 04:29:07 +01:00 [c805-osy6-mw.123-26.bin]
I think it is a little bit funny I can't remove the image.
