I currently have a Cisco Aironet 1242 that will boot and I can enter the default password of "Cisco". Once in the AP I am unable to open the CONF T menu.
When enter the AP says its an invalid command.
Any ideas?

Hello Jason,
you may need to get privileged access first:
enable
if you don't know the enable password you need to use the appropriate password recovery procedure
Hope to help

Sounds like you are not in enable mode . Type enable then enter cisco again.

1. This should be in the Wireless forum.
2. The reason why you are getting the "Command disabled" when you enter ANY command on the AP is because you are running the CAPWAP/LWAP image.
There are two specific directions you can go and I need to know whether or not you want to let your AP operate in Autonomous Mode or CAPWAP/LWAPP mode (aka Wireless LAN Controller).
