Hi all, if I want to upgrade the IOS on my cat 6500, do I just do it like normal switch, copy tftp flash ?
also, would this apply to both CPU's? or would I need to upgrade each independently?
also when I save config on the active CPU, does this automatically apply to the standby cpu ?

Hello Carl,
A how to is found here
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a00801347e2.shtml
From what I rememeber you need to upgarde both sups seperately. However bootflash statements will be synchronised and so for the second sup you can just copy the image across and reload ie
copy bootflash:xxx slavebootflash:xxx

Hi,
Oh yeah - and yes configs are synchronised between the sups.
You can run commands on the secondary sup with
remote command standby-rp
or
remote login standby-rp
and check running/startup config, bootvar, config-register etc.

Depends on the IOS you want: Mono or Modular.
