VPN losing connection on VM

I have Linux host with a XP VM running on it. On the XP VM i have a Cisco VPN client that users use to connect to remote servers. Once the user logs onto the XP VM and uses the Cisco VPN, they loose connection to the VM. Anyone know what can be done to resolve this issue so that a user doesnt loose connection to the XP VM when using the Cisco VPN? Does split tunneling need to be enabled on the Cisco router so this wont happen or is there another way? How big of a security concern is split tunneling since its disabled by default? Thanks!

Simon,

In short you need split tunneling to beat this requirement. Otherwise all traffic will be sent through the tunnel. IMHO,Cisco will not presume that you still need to connect the local network while connecting the VPN.

HTH,

Toshi
