Hello Carl,

we use 1% on /24 client subnets using WINS to minimize broadcast traffic generated by windows networking.

We use it on GE ports for sure.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

how do I set this up? and does it mean 1% of the total bandwidth of the port?

also when the port is err disabled, how to i bring it back online ?

Hello Carl,

yes

>> also when the port is err disabled, how to i bring it back online ?

storm control doesn't put the port in error-disable it installs a frame filter and drops all broadcast frames.

It measures the broadcast level using 1 second interval it drops if in the previous interval broadcast traffic was over the threshold.
