I have question about link failure detection on ISE 10G SPA Interface Cards.

ISE 10G SPA Interface Cards (12000-SIP-601)

Do these cards have a quick link failure detection mechanism? I could not find the failure detection time for these cards/interfaces. ANy info would be appreciated!

Hi,

Remote/Local Fault link signaling are enabled by default to support unidirectional link failure.

Also by default the router will wait 2s before telling the RIB the interface is down. You can remove this timer with the carrier-delay 0 command under the interface.

If it's not a back-2-back connection, you will have to rely on BFD or routing protocol hello mechanism for link failure detection.

HTH

Laurent.
