See if there's a software called "Embassy Security Suite by Wave Systems". If yes, uninstall it and try again.

Thanks!

no man, its the simple CUPC Software Zip file which i download from cisco.com.... for CUPC do i need cisco presence server ??

bcoz i dont have Presence Server ... i have one CCM that is integrated with MPE-SE .. i have to configure Meetings Feature in MPE-SE Box , so in cisco doc i read that for Meeting Feature in MPE-SE it can be done via CUPC .... so thats why i am trying to install that software in my laptop and will integrate it with my CCM ....

any solution for that !!!!

REgards

First of all, you cannot use CUPC without a Presence server (CUPS).

Second, if CUPC crashes on startup, it's usually caused by security software (e.g. "Embassy Security Suite".

CUPC - Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.

CUPS - Cisco Unified Presence Server.

By looking at the names alone, you can guess they are designed to use as a pair. :)

For more details, take a look at http://htluo.blogspot.com/2009/01/cups-and-cupc-father-and-son-or-not.html

#1 You CANNOT use CUPC without CUPS.

As for MeetingPlace Express, it does NOT require CUPC. CUPC just one of the client application that uses MPX.

#2 You DON'T need CUPC to use MeetingPlace.

Based on #1 and #2, you don't have to care why CUPC is not running. :)

Michael

ok fine great .. i got your point about CUPS and CUPC !!!

as you said for Meeting Place Express we dont require CUPC ...

see i have Meeting Place Express Standard Edition 2.0 and in the Configuration & Maintenance Guide of MPE 2.0 i read this

" Standard licenses-Used for ad hoc voice, web, and video meetings. Used with the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express VT system; cannot be used with the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express system.

When the stdsw license is installed, the system is enabled with the standard (ad hoc) voice, web, and video license counts and six trial premium (scheduled) voice, web, and video licenses. Standard (ad hoc) meetings and web support are provided only through Cisco Unified Personal Communicator."

above paragraph is available at page 3-2 and it is first or second paragraph from top of page.

if i dont require CUPC for MeetingPlace Express then how we can configure Scheduling and Reservationless Meetings in Meeting Place Express Standard Edition ...

please explain me the way of process for MPE-SE ....

your urgent help or reply will be very appreciated !!!!

Regards

I'm not a MeetingPlace expert. But it looks like you misread the document.

=============

Standard (ad hoc) meetings and web support are provided only through Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.

=============

The paragraph above means you CANNOT do "AD HOC" meeting without CUPC.

But you CAN do schedule meeting. Isn't that want you want (schedule meeting)?

Thanks!

Michael

hmmmmm, you are right michael !!! but if you read the doc from start, it says

"Standard licenses - Used for ad hoc voice, web, and video meetings. Used with the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express VT system; cannot be used with the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express system."

it means that MPE having Standard License does support only ad hoc voice, web and video meetings !!! and my box is Meeting Place Express VT System, m i right ????

dear i just have to configure Scheduling and Meetings no matter either Ad-hoc meetings or general .....

im still confuse how the end user will be able to arrange or start meetings ??? can you please cross check with any of your friend because i am not getting any help from netpro ... or not even from my friends circle because this is the first installation im doing in all of my friends circle ...

Thanks ...

Hi Michael - What is the problem that the "Embassy" sware causes? I had my users remove because our integrator just told us to remove it and never why? Thanks.

Basically, the "Embassy" software got its reputation by NOT compatible with many software (besides Cisco).

Here are some victims:

There's no solution other than uninstall it. Cisco put this in CUPC release note:
