I have couple of vlans i am routing on our core network. Inter-vlan routing is enable for all vlans but i would like to isolate few of the vlans. I dont want any traffic routed between those vlans. is vrf the way forward? Can vrf completely isolate the vlans traffic?

Yes, VRF might be used. The "Lite" variant ties routing table instances to VLANs. Useful if you want multiple routed networks running on the same platforms that don't directly (and normally) "see" each other.

Using private-vlans might be another option as well?
