My question is this:

I have a 2811 router with the IOS feature set IP Base installed. I need to upgrade to the Advanced IP Services feature set in order to build the configuration I need. The router is under a Smartnet contract.

Do I need to purchase an upgrade license or can I just download the software and install it for free?

Most SMARTNETS allow for software downloads, but you need to make sure that your contract allows for different feature sets. Send me a private email with your contract number and I will verify it for you.
