cisco Switch control port by MAC address

Dear All,

Please help to let me know as below:

i had cisco switch 2960 and connect to 3Com switch and PC connect to 3Com switch.if we use only cisco switch we can control port with mac address..but some pc connect to 3com , so how can i control port and mac address?

note: the 3com switch is normal switch and i can control by Cisco switch....

How can i do?

Hello Rechard,

you can know what MAC addresses are behind the 3Com switch.

if f0/5 is the interface that connects to 3Com use:

sh mac-address-table int f0/5

to identify the PCs you should use also the ARP information on the router (that can be the 2960 or another device)

sh ip arp | inc

you can find the ip address associated to that MAC address
