I had a 65k crash at the weekend when a module was replaced (WS-X6548-GE-TX). The switch has WS-SUP32-10GE-3B and most likely crashed due a memory issue after initial analysis of the logs. IOS is 12.2(18)SXF9.
After the switch came back up a lot of servers on all modules could not connect to anything even though the NIC was up on the switch and server sides. It could be fixed by shut no shut on either side.
Has anyone seen this behaviour and how to avoid this in the future?

I have had similar issues but it was STP that would push the switch over the edge (cat 6500)
from researching the IOS it had bugs all over it(which caused memory leaks). Upgraded the IOS and all the problems went away.
would suggest you do the same

Well the TAC have RMA'd both Sups and I'll upgrade the IOS when they go live, thanks.
