Our RME 4.2 is trying to fetch vlan config (vlan.dat) from our routers (IOS 12.3(11r)T2) while trying to perform archive management - and naturally it fails as there isn't a vlan.dat for it to copy!

Why is it doing this and how can we fix it? Please help & thanks in advance.

This is CSCsq66458. It will be fixed in RME 4.3 due out this summer as part of LMS 3.2. The workaround is to create an empty vlan.dat on flash.

One way to do this is to do:

Router#vlan database

Router(vlan)#vlan 111

Router(vlan)#exit
