Hello Experts,
We have CCM 6.1, unity 4.2 co-located in a Head Office, plus that we have several branches with MGCP SRST gws.
people at the branches use untiy at H.O which right now I guess uses g.711 codec so each call from a user to check voicemail is 80k per call.
we are also using untiy for auto attendant purposes, so when somebody from PSTN calls to H.O # unity plays the messages.
Q1: How much bandwidth is it consumed from the MGCP GW to Unity while plays the auto attendant messages?
For the branches, T1 goes to local MGCP and then when calls come to the branch MGCP GW, it goes through the WAN to H.O for Unity AA.
Q2: How much bandwith is used from remote MGCP gws to Unity while playing AA messages?
THANKS!!!!!

zero
the GWs an unity only exchange RTP, all the signaling to the MGCP GW is handled by CUCM as it's master-slave protocol
EDIT: 0 for signaling GW-unity, RTP still is based on codec you use

I think its still G711 at 80k. The Auto Attendant is still playing that stream over the WAN to the MGCP gateway for an outside caller.
Either way, if CUCM and Unity are colocated and the CallHandler or checking voicemail, recording a message, anytime a port is being used, there is stream of traffic coming/going to/from the Hub and remote site.
So if 3 outside callers from the remote MGCP site hit Unity, you have (3) streams of G711 being used to/from Hub and MGCP location.
