CME Upgrade question

I am a relative newb to the UC500 system so forgive me if this question has already been posted, I tried to do a search but couldn't find any relavent documents. Anywho, I recently downloaded and installed the 7.1 early release pack. Everything runs through smoothly however, when I look at my CME it tells me it is still version 4.2. My question is how can I run the CME upgrade using the CLI or just run the CME upgrade independantly without upgrading the additional components?

Jorge,

The CME version depends on the IOS version you have. If you upgraded the IOS, CME should be 7.1...

Can you share a "show version" ?

Marcos

You are running 7.1 on that IOS. Issue the following command:

show telephony-service | inc Version

Did you do this upgrade via CLI?  If so, you probably need to get the CME gui files that go with this upgrade.  You should also see what path you have configured for the GUI to use.

ip http path flash:/gui

should be in your config.

Sure, here is the show version from the unit:

Indeed! Odd that it shows CME version 4.2 on the CME webpage though.

ip http path flash:/gui

I went ahead and added that line, I am assuming I'll need to do a reload before seeing the change take effect. I'll do that after hours and let you know if it worked. Thanks for the assist!

So after the reboot the CME GUI is still showing version 4.2(0). Very odd.

How did you upgrade the box?  Was it through CCA?

If you did it by CLI, did you use the correct GUI files?

I ran the upgrade through the CCA, but I'd be happy to re-run the upgrade through the CLI if anyone can provide the proper commands to do this.

Can you post the output of a show telephony-service?

Thanks

Sure, here it is...it looks like it is running version 7.1

I would recommend opening a TAC case for this one.  The other options are to try to install the gui files again.

You can get the steps from here.

Hi Jorge,

When you upgrade the IOS on the UC, you also need to upgrade the GUI files. You can check what version the GUI files is having by running the command :

Router# more flash:gui/CME_GUI_README.TXT

The output of that should tell you the GUI version. (which will be most likely different than the IOS version)

You can download the version of the gui file that you are running from this link here :

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/Tablebuild/doftp.pl?ftpfile=cisco/voice/ip-phone/ip-iostsp/cme-gui-7.0.1.1.tar&app=Tablebuild&status=showC2A

Here is the link which states this : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmeinstl.pdf

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Pashmeen
