We have a new remote site coming up hat will have IP phones that register to a central Call Processor (sadly, not Call Manager. The solution was already in place) . 2 questions
1) Can we get SIP trunk service at th remote site for the remote phones to use even though the phone system is at the central site? The sites will be connected by a P2P and I figured that since it is all networked as 1 site it should not matter where the SIP service is as long as the phones can reach it.
2) In this scenario using H.323 the call setup and teardown for the remote phones would go across the P2P to get to the phone system but once the call is connected the data stream would be from the remote gateway to the remote phone and back and thus the P2P bandwidth would not be involved. Does SIP function the same way or will there be a continuous data stream across the P2P for the entire conversation?
